Welcome to the No.4 Residence

Luxurious Apartments in the heart of Warsaw

The No.4 Residence comprise cosy apartments detached from the hustle and bustle of the city, located in a beautifully restored historic outbuilding in the very centre of Warsaw. Here, the charm of the Warsaw’s past meets contemporary style in a great location, with plenty of Art Nouveau and modernist buildings. 22 rooms and apartments have been arranged with the greatest attention to details, which emphasise the individual character of the residence.

Feel the spirit of pre-war Warsaw

The entrance to the property is through restored, stylish doors and an internal courtyard, which give the Residence the air of exclusivity. The front building of the tenement house at 4 Nowogrodzka Street, through which guests enter the No. 4 Residence, was erected in 1913. The author of the design was Leon Wolski, whose works are full of elements characteristic for the early modernism era. Therefore, on the facade of the tenement house there are restored decorative elements typical for this style, such as vases with flowers and vines or garlands.
The construction of the outbuilding itself, in which our Apartments are located, was significantly damaged during the war. However, during the renovation, the identity and history of the place were the key to interior and facade design. The outbuilding's facade consists of two slender, vertical structures, surrounded by a white, ceramic frame, referring with its appearance and shape to old tiled stoves. The interiors of the No.4 Residence are also full of references to the splendour of the pre-war capital city.

The place where art is intertwined with Polish design

The elegance of old Warsaw, combined with the décor and furniture from well-known Polish designers, is the dominant style of the interiors. In one of the apartments there is the famous RM58 armchair by Roman Modzelewski, which was admired by Le Corbusier himself - a world icon of modernism.
Architects from the Kaczmarek Studio have also merged elements inspired by modernism and Polish avant-garde art with everyday spaces, with particular emphasis on the works of Henryk Stażewski. A painter, a pioneer of the avant-garde of the 1920s and 1930s, a representative of constructivism, lived and worked in Warsaw. A strong reference to the artist's style are salient geometric graphics with combinations of colours, put on the walls in apartments and corridors. They remind the famous relief compositions - the artist's original technique. There is an original painting by Henryk Stażewski in the lobby of the aparthotel. Here, at Nowogrodzka Street, you can feel the spirit of Polish art every step of the way.
